Nigerian entertainer and social media personality DJ Chicken, real name Ademola Abiodun, is once again embroiled in a road-related controversy following a distressing incident that has gone viral online. A video circulating on social media shows him seated in the back of a vehicle with a cloth wrapped around him, visibly stained with blood, while several people gather around the scene. Eyewitnesses claim the incident occurred after a road accident involving another road user, which reportedly led to an angry mob confronting and assaulting him before he was taken away from the area. At the time of reporting, no official confirmation has been released regarding the identity of the other party involved or DJ Chicken’s current medical condition.
This latest incident has reignited public scrutiny over DJ Chicken’s driving record and safety on Nigerian roads. In November 2025, he was involved in a serious accident in Sagamu, Ogun State, where his vehicle collided with two motorcycles, leaving a rider and a female passenger seriously injured. The Ogun State Ministry of Justice later announced plans to expedite legal proceedings related to the case, drawing widespread public attention. Prior to that, in December 2023, another incident in the Lekki area of Lagos State saw his vehicle sustain severe damage, narrowly missing pedestrians. These repeated occurrences have fueled criticism from Nigerians on social media, with many calling for stricter enforcement of road safety laws.
Social media users have expressed concern and frustration over the recurring nature of DJ Chicken’s road incidents. One user, @tholu_blessed, remarked, “This is probably the 4th time. Na towards end of first half of the year e dey always get accident. Same thing happened almost a year ago too. Sometime in August I think. Nawa oh.” Another, @QURBANIRay, offered a spiritual interpretation, suggesting, “Take Ur time to travel to IJEBU ife and make sure U mingle, U will understand he spiritual part of what is happening to him… IFA ti e niyen.” Others have criticized the lack of regulatory action, with @iamshyblakj stating, “IF only our vehicle and licensing agency de work, his license should have been revoked never to be driving again.”
The situation has sparked broader conversations about road safety, accountability, and the consequences of reckless driving in Nigeria. Many users, including @Eni_o_la_oba, highlighted the systemic issue of lawlessness, noting, “Just for you to know how lawlessness is this country this guy has accidents while on drugs many time last year and they still allow him to be driving around until he kill people till you arrest him right.” As the public awaits official updates, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws and accountability for high-profile individuals involved in road accidents. The case may prompt renewed calls for reform in Nigeria’s road safety and licensing systems.
