VeryDarkMan Assists Police in Rescuing Baby Allegedly Stolen at Birth and Sold for ₦4.5 Million

A baby allegedly stolen at birth and sold for ₦4.5 million has been successfully rescued by the Special Tactical Squad (STS) of the Nigerian Police Force, according to popular activist and social media personality VeryDarkMan. The child, whose mother reported the incident on April 25, 2026, was recovered after a swift police operation that spanned Imo and Lagos States. VeryDarkMan revealed that the mother approached his office in Abuja, where she disclosed that her aunt had taken the newborn immediately after delivery and sold her to a lawyer for the stated sum. The case was immediately referred to the STS Police Station in Guzape, Abuja, under the command of ACP Victor.

VeryDarkMan stated that the police moved quickly after a petition was reportedly approved by the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Force Intelligence Department. Operatives were dispatched to Imo State on April 26, where they arrested the first suspect—the aunt—who later confessed during interrogation. She revealed that a lawyer had paid ₦4.5 million for the baby, which prompted the STS team to travel to Lagos State to apprehend the second suspect. The lawyer was arrested, and the child was safely rescued from his custody.

The suspects were brought back to Abuja for further investigation, while authorities prepared for the formal handover of the baby to her biological mother. The entire operation, coordinated under ACP Victor’s leadership, demonstrated the effectiveness of the STS in handling sensitive and high-stakes cases. VeryDarkMan shared the news on social media, expressing relief and gratitude for the successful outcome. His post, which included a statement confirming the rescue, has since gained widespread attention and praise from Nigerians online.

Many citizens have commended both the police and VeryDarkMan for their swift action and dedication to justice. The case has reignited discussions about child trafficking, birth-related crimes, and the role of civil society in supporting law enforcement. As the legal process continues, the focus remains on ensuring the child’s safety and the prosecution of those involved. This rescue marks a significant victory in the fight against infant abduction and illegal child sales in Nigeria.
