He added that the beneficiaries are largely drawn from less-privileged segments of society, including widows, divorcees, and spinsters.
₦100,000 Cash, Household Items For Brides
He further disclosed that the state government would provide financial and material support to the couples.
“Each bride is expected to receive a set of beds with mattresses and pillows, as well as ₦100,000 cash to start up a business of her own after collecting ₦100,000 dowry from the government,” he said.
Aminudeen emphasised that participation in the medical screening is mandatory for all intending couples.
He warned that any individual who fails to undergo the screening would be disqualified from the programme.
The mass wedding programme was first introduced during the administration of former Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
It was designed as part of efforts to support vulnerable women and address social challenges in the state.
