TikTok personality Oladimeji Hammed, popularly known as Immunizer, has been released on bail following his arraignment on six charges related to cyberbullying and cyberstalking. The case stems from alleged harmful and provocative content he posted online targeting Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad. Immunizer appeared in court after being invited by police on June 22, where he was formally charged and later granted bail, though complications delayed his release until the following week.
The social media influencer pleaded not guilty to all charges, which include cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and the dissemination of content deemed offensive and damaging to Omowunmi Aloba. In a video shared online shortly after his release, Immunizer revealed he was detained at Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos and only regained his freedom after his bail was perfected. He explained that his personal phone was seized by police and marked as an exhibit, forcing him to record his update using a friend’s device.
“I just got out of prison tonight, Kirikiri, Lagos, and I am making this video from my guy’s phone because my phone was taken away from me by the police at the station. They marked it as an exhibit,” he said in the video. Immunizer recounted that he had responded to a police invitation on June 22, following a petition filed by a prominent figure linked to the Mohbad case. He described the petition as surprising and even laughed upon seeing it, but was subsequently interrogated, detained, and taken to court.
At the court, he was granted bail immediately by the judge. However, Immunizer disclosed that administrative issues arose during the bail process. “The person who was supposed to handle my bail got greedy, made some mistakes, and on Tuesday, I was remanded at Kirikiri prison,” he explained. He added that he was scheduled for release on Wednesday but was only freed on the following day after the bail process was finalized.
Despite his release, Immunizer emphasized that the legal proceedings are not over. He stated he would share a more detailed account of his experience after taking time to rest and recover. The case has drawn significant public attention, with social media users expressing mixed reactions. Some urged him to provide evidence for his claims, while others questioned the ethics of online commentary during sensitive periods like mourning.
As the legal process continues, Immunizer’s case highlights the growing scrutiny of online behavior in Nigeria, especially in cases involving public figures and grief. His release on bail marks a temporary pause in the proceedings, but the broader implications for digital accountability remain a topic of national discussion.
