Rivers United have completed the signing of three Kun Khalifat players as Finidi George bolsters the Pride of Rivers squad ahead of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and 2026/27 CAF Champions League campaigns, Completesports.com reports.
The players are midfielders Chikamso Amaefula and Blessed Iyamu, as well as striker James Ekebuike.

Kun Khalifat turned their 2025/26 season around with a late surge that saw them escape relegation.
Now, the club have lost some of the key players who helped them retain their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) status at the end of the season.

“Yes, three of our key players — Chikamso Amaefula, James Ekebuike and Blessed Iyamu — have left for Rivers United,” Kun Khalifat head coach Obinna Uzoho confirmed on Wednesday morning.
“They served the club well during their stay with us, and we cannot stand in the way of their wishes. We wish them well in their new career destination,” Uzoho said.
Similarly, The Pride of Rivers has added goalkeeper Clinton Ezekiel from relegated Bayelsa United to their squad ahead of the new season.

The Finidi George led side finished second in the NPFL last season, ending the campaign with 67 points, one behind champions Rangers International, who amassed 68 points to secure their ninth top-flight title.
The Port Harcourt club are expected to strengthen further as they prepare for a demanding domestic and continental campaign in the 2026/27 season.
