Rangers Players and Officials Receive ₦150M Cash Reward for 2025/26 NPFL Title Victory

Rangers International FC has been celebrated by the Enugu State Government with a ₦150 million reward package and plots of land for their historic ninth Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) title win in the 2025/2026 season. The Coal City Flying Antelopes clinched the championship with 68 points, finishing one point ahead of Rivers United and eight points clear of third-placed Shooting Stars SC. Governor Dr. Peter Mbah announced the massive cash and land rewards to honor the team’s outstanding performance and dedication to football excellence in the state.

The reward package is split into ₦100 million for the players and ₦50 million for the technical crew and backroom staff. Every player who contributed to the title-winning campaign will receive a plot of land, a gesture that underscores the state’s commitment to recognizing sporting achievement. The government also confirmed that Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) for the land allocations will be issued to all recipients starting next week, ensuring legal ownership and long-term benefits for the team members.

This is the second time in a decade that Rangers have received such significant rewards from the Enugu State Government for winning the NPFL title. In 2016, then-Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi gifted each player a plot of land after their triumph in the 2015/2016 season. He also waived all land title processing fees, making the gesture even more impactful. The current administration’s decision continues this tradition of honoring champions and reinforcing the bond between the state and its beloved football club.

Rangers’ ninth title is a milestone in Nigerian football history, marking their continued dominance in the NPFL. The team’s success has not only brought pride to Enugu but also strengthened the state’s reputation as a breeding ground for top-tier football talent. Governor Mbah’s announcement was met with widespread appreciation from fans, sports analysts, and stakeholders in the football community.

The state government’s investment in the players and officials reflects a broader strategy to support sports development and inspire future generations. By linking achievement with tangible rewards, Enugu is setting a precedent for other states to follow. The gesture also highlights the importance of football as a unifying force and a driver of economic and social development in the region.

As Rangers celebrate this historic win, the Enugu State Government’s support ensures that the team’s legacy will be remembered for years to come. The rewards serve as both recognition and motivation for continued excellence on the pitch.
