Tinubu Congratulates Former Naval Chief Gambo on 60th Birthday

The President praised Gambo as a patriotic and courageous officer whose unwavering commitment to duty set a high standard throughout his military career. He emphasized that Gambo’s service continues to serve as a model for current and future officers in the armed forces and beyond. Over his more than three decades in the military, Gambo specialized in underwater warfare and held key positions across various naval formations and institutions.

He served aboard notable vessels such as NNS Ambe, NNS Damisa, and NNS Ayam, and represented Nigeria internationally as Defence Attaché in Luanda, Angola. Gambo also held critical roles including Naval Assistant to the Chief of Naval Staff, Deputy Director and Acting Director of Defence Affairs at the Office of the National Security Adviser, Director of Research and Rescue at the Defence Headquarters, and Director of Procurement at the Defence Space Administration.

His extensive experience and strategic leadership have left a lasting impact on Nigeria’s naval capabilities and national defense framework. President Tinubu expressed hope that Almighty Allah would grant the retired naval chief good health, strength, and many more years of fulfillment in continued service to national development.
