Israel DMW, logistics manager to Nigerian music star Davido, has raised alarm over Nigeria’s worsening security crisis after sharing a graphic video on Instagram depicting armed bandits brutally attacking a kidnapped victim. The disturbing footage, posted on June 4, 2026, shows suspected bandits violently assaulting a captive, sparking widespread reactions across social media. Israel, who hails from Edo State, described the incident as deeply troubling and unacceptable, underscoring the escalating insecurity gripping the nation.
In his Instagram post, Israel DMW urged Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections. He warned against the growing trend of people trading their votes for small sums of money or basic food items like rice and noodles. “Think about this, before collecting 10k, half or full bag of rice, indomie, to sell your soul in next year’s 2027 election,” he wrote. He also criticized the government’s approach to rehabilitating arrested bandits, calling it “the most annoying thing,” and questioning the effectiveness of such policies.
This is not the first time Israel DMW has spoken out against the current administration. He has consistently criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over governance and insecurity. In a previous post, he declared he would “rather pick a waybill for a friend in Warri than vote APC in 2027,” reflecting his deep dissatisfaction with the government’s performance.
The video has generated intense reactions from Nigerians on social media. Some users expressed shock at the government’s inability to track and apprehend such criminals, while others compared Nigeria’s security challenges to those in neighboring countries like Ghana. One user commented, “If this Happens in Ghana, the person will be arrested within 24 hours, God bless my country Ghana 🇬🇭.” Another shared a personal story, saying, “Na like this dem beat me whenever it was time to call my family for ransom. I was lucky to have made it out alive. It’s been 7 years and nothing has changed.”
The post has also reignited discussions about the effectiveness of security agencies, with users questioning why the DSS and military appear unable to track and neutralize such criminal elements. Some accused the government of turning a blind eye to banditry, while others highlighted the psychological trauma endured by kidnapping survivors. The video and accompanying message have amplified public anxiety over Nigeria’s future, especially as the 2027 elections draw closer.
As insecurity continues to escalate, Israel DMW’s message serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for systemic change in Nigeria’s security and governance structures. The nation’s leaders will need to address these deep-rooted challenges if they hope to restore public trust and ensure a safer future for all Nigerians.
