Nigerian singer and songwriter Patoranking has released his latest single, “Shake That,” featuring Afrobeats star Ruger, marking the third official track from his upcoming fifth studio album. The vibrant record, produced by Yungwillis and Dwillsharmony, blends Afrobeats and dancehall rhythms into a high-energy anthem designed for summer parties and global dancefloors. The release follows his previous collaboration, “African Soldier,” with Jamaican dancehall legend Buju Banton, which signaled a shift toward a more experimental and internationally minded sound.
“Shake That” showcases Patoranking’s signature patois-infused vocals, delivered with confidence and flair, while Ruger adds a sharp, energetic verse that elevates the track’s infectious bounce. The song’s call-and-response structure creates a dynamic back-and-forth between the two artists, enhancing its club-ready appeal. The production emphasizes rhythm and movement, making it ideal for live performances and festival stages.
The music video, directed by Dammy Twitch, complements the song’s lively spirit with colourful visuals and performance-driven scenes that capture the essence of summer fun. Patoranking explained that he wanted to shift gears after the heavier themes of “African Soldier” and deliver something more upbeat for his fans. “After ‘African Soldier’, I wanted to give my fans something for the summer. ‘Shake That’ is that energy,” he said, adding that Ruger brought the right vibes to the track.
He also highlighted the contribution of Ikel Marvelous, who handled the intro, just as he did on the earlier hit “Suh Different.” “Yeah man, I’m excited about this one. This summer we are dancing, I’m back on the road again, I’ll be in the UK and across Europe this summer, yeah catch me and the band, we outside,” Patoranking shared, confirming his return to live performances.
The single’s release coincides with the announcement of his Fire 2026 European Tour, set to take him through major cities in the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium, with additional dates expected to be announced soon. With “Shake That,” Patoranking continues to build momentum toward a global-sounding album era, balancing his dancehall roots with Afrobeats energy to keep fans engaged and dancing. The track is now available on all major streaming platforms, and fans can watch the official music video on YouTube. As Patoranking gears up for international tours, his music remains a powerful force in shaping the Afrobeats landscape.
