In a remarkable achievement for Nigerian cinema, “Gingerrr,” the latest sensation from director Yemi “Filmboy” Morafa, has muscled its way into Nollywood’s elite club of highest-grossing films, claiming the coveted tenth spot on the all-time list. The supernatural crime drama has been dominating the box office for five consecutive weekends, proving that Nigerian audiences can’t get enough of this gripping tale.

The film burst onto the scene with an impressive opening weekend haul of ₦79,154,225, landing it the seventh spot among Nollywood’s biggest premieres. Its momentum only grew stronger, with earnings swelling to ₦185.8 million in week two, ₦266.8 million by week three, and ₦322.7 million in its fourth week. By week five, “Gingerrr” had amassed a spectacular total of ₦378,600,067, cementing its place in Nigerian box office history.

At the heart of this blockbuster is the compelling story of Lala Goldy and her childhood gang known as ‘Gingerrr.’ The narrative takes audiences on an intense journey as Lala’s world spirals into a maze of supernatural events and criminal intrigue following the tragic loss of her parents.
