Insurance Excellence Takes Center Stage: 2025 Almond Awards Celebrates Industry Leaders
In a glamorous ceremony marked by entertainment and industry recognition, the 2025 Almond Insurance Industry Awards #Recharged Edition showcased outstanding achievements across Nigeria’s insurance sector. The prestigious event, hosted at Lagos’ Stable Event Center on Friday, November 7th, saw major players NEM Insurance Plc, AXA Mansard Insurance, and Scib Insurance Brokers emerge as key winners.
NEM Insurance Plc secured the coveted General Insurance Company of the Year title, while AXA Mansard claimed the Life Insurance Company of the Year award. The ceremony also recognized Casava Micro Insurance with a special recognition award, and SCIB Nigeria & Co earned the Insurance Broking Company of the Year distinction.
Individual excellence was celebrated as Mrs. Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu, MD/CEO of REX Insurance, received the Insurance Woman of the Year honor. Mrs. Enitan Solarin of YOA Insurance Brokers was named Insurance Broker of the Year. The night’s highest accolade, Insurance CEO of the Year, went to Mr. Kunle Ahmed, MD/CEO of AXA Mansard Insurance Plc and current Chairman of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA).
The awards drew significant participation from the industry, with over 17,000 votes cast by stakeholders. Winners were selected based on comprehensive criteria including financial strength, gross premium income, claims processing efficiency, corporate social responsibility initiatives, and brand visibility. For individual awards, the selection considered industry contributions, leadership capabilities, and company performance under their guidance.
The event attracted notable personalities including former Rivers State Governor, H.E Hon. Rotimi Chibuke Amaechi, Nigerian Ports Consultative Council Chairman Mr. Bolaji Sumonla, and Lagos Mainland Local Government Chairman Hon. Mayor Emilagba Jubril Kolawole. The ceremony featured performances by leading Nigerian entertainers, combining industry recognition with cultural celebration.
These awards reflect the growing sophistication and competitiveness of Nigeria’s insurance sector, highlighting companies and individuals driving innovation and excellence in the industry.
