JeGO Industries Inc. has introduced its groundbreaking electric vehicle, the Zero Carbon, to Nigeria’s automotive market, marking a significant step forward in the country’s transition to sustainable transportation.
The Zero Carbon, a sophisticated 5-seater electric vehicle equipped with advanced AI-powered sensors, promises to revolutionize urban mobility while addressing safety concerns in Nigerian traffic conditions. The vehicle boasts an impressive 505-kilometer range on a single charge, making long-distance travel between major cities feasible.
During the 5th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at the University of Lagos (November 4-6, 2025), JeGO Technologies CEO Frederick Apoghene unveiled the vehicle’s innovative features. The Zero Carbon incorporates state-of-the-art technology, including concealed door handles activated by proximity sensors, dual touchscreen interfaces, and comprehensive AI-enhanced safety systems.
Notable features include: – Advanced radar and LIDAR sensors for enhanced safety – Panoramic sunroof and surround cameras – Regenerative braking system – Quiet cabin with premium insulation – Built-in mini refrigerator – Multiple charging options, including portable solutions
The vehicle is priced at $26,000 (approximately N39 million), with more affordable models starting at N18 million. JeGO offers flexible financing options and a rental program starting at N60,000 per day for early adopters.
To address charging infrastructure concerns, the company provides portable charging solutions and energy pods that can be delivered to customers’ locations. The vehicle supports multiple charging methods, from standard home charging to rapid DC charging capable of full power restoration in 30 minutes.
Apoghene emphasized that the Zero Carbon’s development was driven by personal experience with road safety issues. “We lost a loved one to a car accident. For us, intelligence and safety are not optional—they’re foundational,” he stated.
The company has also announced plans to introduce 14-seater and 8-seater electric vans to serve Nigeria’s commercial transportation sector. The vehicles are developed through collaboration between American and Chinese engineering teams.
With its combination of advanced technology, practical features, and competitive pricing, the Zero Carbon represents a significant milestone in Nigeria’s automotive industry, potentially reshaping the future of transportation in the country.
