APC Stronghold: Borno Governor Pledges Unwavering Support for Tinubu Administration

In a decisive declaration during the APC Northeast e-registration workshop in Maiduguri, Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum affirmed the state’s steadfast allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership.

The workshop, which marked the launch of the party’s digital membership registration initiative, drew attendance from key party officials, including national leadership, state executives, local government chairmen, and legislative representatives.

“The Government of Borno State under my leadership will provide the desired support to ensure the success of the APC membership e-registration exercise in the north east,” Governor Zulum announced to the assembled participants. He extended this commitment to include support for party members in non-APC governed states.

Highlighting the state’s transformation under APC governance, Zulum drew attention to Borno’s journey from crisis to recovery. He recalled the pre-APC era when the state faced severe security challenges, with local governments under siege and economic instability threatening daily life.

The governor credited the positive changes to sustained federal government support, beginning with the late President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, which established the North East Development Commission (NEDC) and intensified counter-terrorism efforts. This support, according to Zulum, has continued and strengthened under President Tinubu’s leadership.

“The President has shown a deep commitment to the final restoration of peace in Borno and the entire North-East,” Zulum stated, noting the ongoing collaboration between federal and state authorities in resettling displaced populations and rebuilding communities.

The governor also emphasized the historic significance of having a vice president from Borno State under the APC government, presenting it as evidence of the party’s inclusive leadership approach.

Looking ahead to 2027, Zulum urged Borno residents to support President Tinubu’s re-election bid, calling for early momentum building to ensure continuity in leadership. “Let us work together to ensure his visionary leadership continues to guide our nation forward,” he concluded.

The e-registration initiative represents a significant step in the APC’s modernization efforts, aimed at digitalizing party operations and expanding its membership base across the northeastern region.
