Anambra West Residents Pledge Strong Support for Ukachukwu

APC Candidate Ukachukwu Receives Overwhelming Support in Anambra West

In a significant political gathering at Saint John’s Anglican Church, Umueze-Anam, residents of Anambra West Local Government Area pledged their full support to All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu for the upcoming November 8 Anambra State election.

The event began with a traditional blessing from 97-year-old Pa Charles Nwanegbo of Umueze-Anam community, whose prayers set an enthusiastic tone for the gathering. The ceremony drew massive crowds from the region’s 15 communities, with supporters celebrating through traditional songs and dances.

Former Lands Commissioner Hon. Bonaventure Enemali highlighted that Ukachukwu was the first candidate to personally visit and assess the area’s challenges. The local government area, home to both Igbo and Igala speaking communities, faces severe infrastructure deficits, including poor road networks, lack of drinking water, deteriorating schools, and absent healthcare facilities.

Community leaders outlined specific needs, with Mr. Clement Okoye, the Ikukuoma campaign coordinator, emphasizing the critical requirement for road construction, particularly the Nzam to Igbedor route with a bridge at Ukwubili river. This infrastructure would significantly improve the transportation of agricultural produce from the farming communities.

Notable endorsements came from various community figures, including: – Mrs. Theresa Okoye, former APGA women’s leader – Engineer Fidelis Igwebuike Ekwenze of the Onyilingbagba foundation – Youth leader known as “Italian Anam” – Hon. Patrick Obalim Umeoba, former APGA state assembly member

Former House of Representatives member Hon. Okaka Madubueze concluded the event by leading the community in a unified declaration of support for Ukachukwu. The gathering highlighted the region’s urgent need for development and their trust in Ukachukwu’s campaign promises, based on his track record as an entrepreneur and philanthropist.

The endorsement event underscores the growing political shifts in Anambra West, where residents express hope for meaningful development after years of unfulfilled promises from previous administrations.
