University of Ibadan Announces Final Call for Distance Learning Admissions
The University of Ibadan (UI) has announced that applications for its Open, Distance, and e-Learning (ODeL) undergraduate programs will close on October 10, 2025, at midnight. This announcement comes as the institution prepares to welcome its newest cohort of distance learning students.
The innovative UI-ODeL program offers an alternative pathway to earning a prestigious University of Ibadan degree, specifically designed for students seeking flexible study arrangements. This initiative particularly benefits candidates affected by JAMB/UTME placement restrictions and professionals balancing work commitments with education.
Professor Babatunde Omobowale, Director of UI DLC, confirmed that new students will be formally inducted during a mandatory matriculation ceremony scheduled for October 30, 2025, at the UI International Conference Centre (ICC). The event will feature a unique component: matriculation lectures delivered by distinguished UI-ODeL alumni who achieved First-Class honors in their respective fields.
Three exceptional graduates will share their experiences: Mr. OLALEKAN Akolade Abass (Computer Science) will discuss navigating the flexible learning environment, Mr. AKINDUBI Jelili Babatunde (Psychology) will present strategies for academic excellence, and Mr. OKOYE Mark (Political Science) will elaborate on opportunities available to UI-ODeL students and graduates.
