Ingredients
- 2 cups zobo (dried hibiscus) leaves
- 2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2-3 pieces dried ginger
- 4-5 whole cloves
- 4 cups water (for zobo preparation)
- Fresh mint leaves (optional)
- Popsicle molds or small glasses with ice cream sticks
Steps to Follow
- Step 1: Rinse the zobo leaves thoroughly under running water
- Step 2: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a pot
- Step 3: Add the rinsed zobo leaves, dried ginger, and cloves to the boiling water
- Step 4: Allow to steep for 15-20 minutes, then strain and let cool completely
- Step 5: Fill popsicle molds halfway with cooled zobo juice
- Step 6: Freeze partially until semi-solid (about 1 hour)
- Step 7: Add fresh orange juice on top of the partially frozen zobo layer
- Step 8: Place mint leaves in the molds if desired
