Edo Deputy Governor Lauds Okpebholo’s Early Administrative Achievements
In a significant endorsement of the current administration, Edo State Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa has praised Governor Monday Okpebholo’s first-year accomplishments, claiming they exceed the eight-year achievements of some other state governors.
During a meeting with the Esan Daughters Development Initiative of Edo State at his office, Idahosa, through his Chief Press Secretary Mr. Friday Aghedo, expressed confidence in the administration’s trajectory. He emphasized that the government’s initiatives were just beginning to unfold, promising more developmental strides in the coming months.
The deputy governor highlighted the governor’s SHINE Agenda as a cornerstone of the administration’s commitment to good governance across the state. He particularly emphasized the people-centric nature of Okpebholo’s policies and the administration’s focus on maintaining unity among Edo residents. Speaking with enthusiasm, Idahosa described Governor Okpebholo as “God’s gift to Esan land,” noting widespread public support for his leadership.
Mrs. Kate Osaro, President of the Esan Daughters Development Initiative, commended the harmonious working relationship between the governor and his deputy, crediting their collaboration for the state’s current peaceful atmosphere.
In a separate event, the deputy governor welcomed representatives from Our Lady of Mercy Nursery and Basic School, which is preparing for its 50th-anniversary celebration. During this meeting, Ambassador Philip Ogbebor, speaking for the school’s Golden Jubilee Organizing Committee, acknowledged the state government’s substantial contributions to educational development.
Idahosa used the opportunity to encourage the visiting students to pursue leadership roles, including political positions such as governor and deputy governor. He praised the school’s half-century of educational excellence and its role in shaping young minds.
The visit culminated with Ambassador Ogbebor expressing gratitude for the government’s ongoing support of education, recognizing it as a crucial foundation for the state’s future development.
These events underscore the administration’s commitment to both educational advancement and inclusive governance, while highlighting the positive reception of Governor Okpebholo’s early tenure among various stakeholder groups in Edo State.
