NAJA Set to Host Prestigious Auto Industry Awards in Lagos
The Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) has announced its flagship International Auto Awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Lagos’ Oriental Hotel. This premier automotive industry event celebrates innovation and excellence in Nigeria’s motoring sector.
The annual ceremony brings together a diverse assembly of stakeholders, from government officials to industry executives and media representatives, to recognize outstanding contributions that have advanced Nigeria’s automotive sector. Frank Kintum, who chairs the Planning Committee, has confirmed that preparations are well underway to maintain the event’s reputation for credibility and inclusivity.
“The NAJA Awards have established themselves as the benchmark for recognizing excellence in Nigeria’s automotive ecosystem,” Kintum explained. He added that the 2025 edition will highlight achievements in several key areas, including domestic manufacturing capabilities, environmental sustainability in transportation, and developments in industry policy.
Theodore Opara, NAJA Chairman, emphasized the organization’s dedication to supporting initiatives that complement the Federal Government’s industrial development agenda. He particularly highlighted the significant partnership with the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) for this year’s ceremony, noting their essential role in shaping industry policy and driving innovation.
The event is expected to draw an influential audience, including Senator John Owan Enoh, Minister of State for Industry; NADDC Director-General Chief Joseph Osanipin; chairs of the National Assembly Industry Committees; China’s Ambassador to Nigeria; and the Director of the African Association of Automotive Manufacturers (AAAM), alongside other prominent government and industry figures.
This gathering serves not only as an awards ceremony but also as a crucial platform for networking and dialogue among key stakeholders in Nigeria’s growing automotive sector, reflecting the industry’s increasing importance in the nation’s economic landscape.
